Alice Toomer’s photorealistic paintings explore the fleeting beauty of food, reflecting on its role as a source of connection and care in our lives.

Based in Te Whanganui-a-Tara, Alice’s use of monumental compositions and a rich colour palette transforms food into an evocative and visceral narrative of pure indulgence. Thick slabs of butter and decadent wedges of cheese remind us of shared meals and the comfort found in culinary rituals.
