Twentysix is a vibrant art gallery in the centre of Newtown that showcases contemporary, innovative and bold art.

Established in 2021, this expansive art space actively supports Wellington's art community, exhibiting pieces from emerging and established artists, and across a wide spectrum of art forms. The space is perfect for wall art, multi-media, sculptures, installations, wearable art, design, poetry, performance, and soundscapes. With excellent facilities and in a prime location, it’s also an ideal space for events, workshops and pop-ups.

In 1897, a Mr Underwood was the first to build a home at this address, and most recently, it was the showroom for Plumbers Supreme. When it became vacant, artist and designer Petra Scheuber took the opportunity to convert the showroom into a gallery where artists could present their work to the public.

While the hand-painted logos on the facade remain, the interior is now a bold modern space that has hosted exhibitions of many artforms, including ceramics, photography, paintings, sculpture, and multi-media.
