FF/Stop – Capture Newtown
A creative film photography walk with FF/Stop
Join FF/Stop for a creative film photowalk around Newtown on Saturday 23rd August, 10am - 1pm. This workshop is an opportunity for locals and curious minds to get creative with slow photography and look at Newtown from a fresh perspective.
Meet at twentysix gallery where we’ll sort into small groups. You’ll spend a couple of hours wandering Newtown together and capturing it through your lens, in response to your chosen theme. BYO film camera if you have one (we’ll have spares) and we’ll provide you with 35mm film. Come with your photo pals or come solo and meet new people. Dress for the weather (we’ll go ahead come rain or shine), unless it’s truly Wellington on a bad day: rain date Sunday 24th August, 10am-1pm.
After the workshop, we’ll process your films with our friends at Splendid Photo lab, and we invite you back to the gallery for a show and tell on Thursday 28th August at 6pm. We’ll show the images, have a yarn, and then send them to you digitally.
Koha: This workshop runs on a cost-basis to cover film and development. Suggested koha $20 per person. Pay on the day.
Who are we?
We are FF/Stop. We’re Faye and Fran, film photographers who collaborate to capture portraits of Wellingtonians and bring photography to life through public art events.
FF/Stop is our side-hustle and creative outlet. We value connection, conversation and experimentation over the perfect photo. We love the slowness and surprises that come from shooting on film.
