Moment of Truth is a collection of new paintings and sculptural work by Chevron Hassett.

Hassett introduces paintings as part of his gallery practice for the first time. Incorporating customary whakairo (carving) and kowhaiwhai (painting) forms, he reconfigures the designs into poetic dialogue and visual language, speaking on important contemporary issues and highlighting experiences of Urban Maori communities today. He also presents new statues and a reimagination of his uniform works. Nurturing a continuous momentum in investigation and holistically maintaining conversations of Urban Indigeneity within his practice.
